Who I Am

I'm naturally curious person and love learning and exploring new ideas - either creating something that doesn't exist yet, or giving a fresh twist to what already does. Originally from Bilbao, I've been living in Barcelona since September 2005, captivated by the climate, the city, and its people.

Technology has fascinated me since childhood. I remember taking apart gaming devices to see how they worked, and whenever something broke, I'd ask for it to tinker with and save the parts!

Professional Background

I've been building software professionally since 2006, mostly as a full-stack developer on Java/J2EE platforms. Today I work at Vip District , where I develop and evolve the platform behind its savings and loyalty programmes. For more than a year I was responsible for the Vip Incentives product; now, in the Maintenance and Support team, I keep improving Incentives and other products, fixing bugs and building enhancements and supporting the person now in charge of them.

Before that, at Tatamia Solutions, I worked on the evolution and maintenance of Tatamia Interactive Channel (TIC), the company's own interactive TV platform, and built PHP web applications and Android apps. I also took part in bringing Scrum into the company and was its Scrum Master for a while, back when it worked that way. Earlier roles took me through a mobile app management platform on AWS at Mobivery, business intelligence applications for AXA, and security and PKI software at SeMarket.

Outside work I run my own servers on Linode and DigitalOcean and build products under JavocSoft, more and more of them with AI at their core, from LLM-powered features to assistants that answer from your own documents. What drives me most is the product side: spotting a real need, shaping the idea and taking it all the way to launch. A few of those stories are told in the case studies.

JavocSoft is my personal brand under which I develop all my projects since 2010. The motto "EnjoYing CodiNg New IdeAs" reflects my philosophy: each project is born from a real need, designed to bring something different and useful through experimentation and continuous learning.

I'm also an avid retro game collector, especially for NES and other classic consoles. This passion for gaming has led me to create projects like Game Collector Pal, Poliminom, and the Evercadianos Fanzine.

From time to time, just for fun and to share the experience, I also stream on Twitch . I also run a gaming blog, crucetaplay.com , where I talk about the games I enjoy or am currently playing.
